Write Them Off…

James 5:19-20 (MSG)
19 My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God’s truth, don’t write them off. Go after them. Get them back 20 and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God.
At times I know I am guilty of not following this command from James 5. Perhaps I have tried to justify it as part of the human condition. Recently though, God has been showing the reason – in flesh and blood – of why he tells us otherwise. There are three people I think of specifically as I am writing this who have rediscovered, renewed, or are seeking God. The questions they ask are refreshing and ones that perhaps I have taken for granted for too long.
The roller coaster of emotions or opinions, at times it appears they are on, really is no different than the one I am riding. The difference is they are verbalizing it, and I am trying to mask it.
If there is someone in your path who is questioning or wandering, engage them. I may not always have the answers, but being there and trying to find them together may just be what both of us need.
