Our Mission

The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Our Vision:

Motivated by the love of God, as a leader in Christian faith-based human services, The Salvation Army is committed to serving the whole person, body, mind and spirit, with integrity and respect, using creative solutions to positively transform lives.

The Salvation Army’s eleven articles of faith reflect our determination to remain faithful to our standards and principles. All members of The Salvation Army’s Church are encouraged to review these principles from time to time and to reaffirm before God their dedication to Him and to His good works.

USA East Mission and Culture Department Statement:

The Mission and Culture Department seeks to identify and articulate with biblical, theological and historical discernment the critical issues arising from the intersections of gospel, Army and culture in the North American context, and to promote the formation of skilled Salvationist change agents for this mission field- through wisdom gathering, theological dialogue, event planning, resource development, wrestling through local questions, shared strategizing, and the encouragement of systems of care for all.
